Nothing beats an exciting and actual experience to deepen learning. The magic of a field trip isn’t just the subject. It is the break in the subject. It is the break in routine and adventure that opens up children’s minds to new things. According to our thought of ideal education learning should be full of joy and excitement.
An educational visit is an adventure that gives hands on experience that substantiates concept and learning. Keeping this in mind, we at St. Carmel, organise a number of field visits every year. The visits are planned in a way that each student gets a chance to actually visit all places of practical importance at least once in his school time. The classes which visited grocery shop or a post office this year during their working hours(students actually see how things are managed, organised and how a particular department operator will visit a Bank or a Hospital next year and so on.
During the session of 2018-19, a very important visit to IIT-Ropar(both transit and new campus) for all students of +1(all stream) was organised. The students were quite enthusiastic and inquisitive during the whole visit. It was as if they were transported to different level . Quite attracted by the environment, teaching-learning milieu, the work culture and most of all commitment to work, simplicity of thought and living the students expressed their wish to work hard so that they could be a part of such an institution. They interacted with the renowned Professors there and had a number of queries about different research areas, projects under progress, The concept of TINKERING LAB was something they were executed to discover. They came to know about remarkable work of eminent researchers as different blocks were named after eminent men of science and research. Students enquired about opportunities available and prospects of studies at IITs. It was as extremely successful and memorable visit.
The best part of visits conducted by St. Carmel is that they are FREE of COST, nothing is charged from students for these visits.
